Divisional Director – Infrastructure.
Up to £130k basic + package, Ideally South East/Midlands/flexible, Ref: V179.

Our client is seeking a proven Director, to take full accountability for the continued profitable expansion of a highly successful contracting and support services business, in the infrastructure sector. Working with public and private clients, they apply a full turnkey engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance capability, allowing them to offer full lifecycle solutions to the owners of what are increasingly capacity challenged and budgetary squeezed, rail, highways, aviation and utility assets. The successful candidate will be required to lead an established management team and total staff of 500 - 1,000 in achieving contract expectations and performance objectives. Whilst simultaneously, identifying and securing new strategic partnerships, setting and delivering business strategy against forecasts, and innovating with customers to identify new value adding outsourcing opportunities. To be considered you must demonstrate an impressive career record, including: holding full P&L accountability for a business employing over 400 staff; delivered continuous profitable growth for a business in which you set strategy and managed service delivery over a minimum period of 3 years; having worked in a sector focusing on the design, maintenance or management of high value capital assets on behalf of public clients; the identification, development and successful conversion of public sector, asset management business opportunities.

Commercial Director – Infrastructure.

Our client is one of the industries leaders in the provision, repair and maintenance of infrastructure networks. A long established business, they have continued to evolve, positioning themselves within emerging energy and environmental sectors, whilst capitalising on long established relationships to secure strategic alliances with public and private clients within highways, rail and utilities. They now seek to appoint a strong and versatile Commercial Director with the ability to confidently work across any of the above sectors, supporting on; divisional operational matters, business winning capability, managing the group commercial function and performing due diligence on strategic group opportunities. To be considered, you must demonstrate responsibility in leading the commercial function of a regional business with a turnover not less than £50m. You must also: have experience working on behalf of a contracting organisation in an infrastructure framework orientated environment; understand the challenges and opportunities arising through high volume low value term contracts, in a highly regulated industry; bring significant experience in both pre and post contract commercial management, with an inherent ability for the identification and elimination of project risk and financial exposure; and be capable of operating, analysing and enhancing complex commercial management and reporting systems. Allowing for the effective control of a supply chain and implementation of a procurement strategy.

Well matched Interim Managers allow the Group Exec to focus on wider strategic issues. To ensure we continue to offer our clients the best qualified and proven interim solutions, specific to their individual business needs, we would like to extend our network of Interim Executives, with whom we will discuss current and future confidential assignments. To be considered for assignments, you must have operated within the above sectors for a minimum of 5 years as CEO, MD or Group Head of Discipline (Commercial, Operations, Business Development, Bid, Engineering or Procurement). Where you have held accountability for: Assessing, building and leading management teams; Formulating, setting and delivering strategy; Maximising resource utilisation; Enhancing service delivery and acting as a champion for innovation; Process improvement and change management; and Achieving profitable growth. You must also, currently be engaged as an Interim Manager or be immediately available, and ideally be established as a Ltd Co or operate a similar vehicle allowing you to undertake independent consultancy assignments.

Capable of offering early concept, feasibility and business planning through to a full programme management, multi-disciplinary engineering and operations management services; this organisation is ideally positioned to capitalise on the infrastructure boom currently underway in Africa, India, SE Asia and South America. They can demonstrate an enviable portfolio of established clients and successful case studies. Some delivered utilising strong regional partnerships, which now provides a platform to take them through their next phase of growth, and targeting an increasing market share under the stewardship of a new Head of Aviation. To be considered, you must demonstrate: a strong pedigree in the aviation sector relating to the design, development and operation of major international airports; have successfully identified and secured strategic consultancy work with aviation clients in the UK and internationally; ideally bring a blend of both management consultancy and development/engineering services experience; and be capable of strategically advising a large international consultancy at executive level as sector expert.

Committed to extending their portfolio, they have now embarked upon a new project pipeline. Critical to the success of these projects will be the appointment of their Client Representative Project Directors, to take full accountability for the successful delivery to the works programmes, to the desired high standards and within budget. Taking a lead role and working collaboratively with the consultants, contractors and global supply chain, you will play an integral role within both the project and groups development team. To be considered, you must demonstrate experience in: Taking overall Client Side Project Director responsibility in leading significant mixed use development projects with a construction value in excess of £200m; Supervising the programming and management of major works packages to demanding quality and health & safety standards; and leading international projects from commencement to completion.
